The lasts for my George Barbier style shoes are finished and I just needed to model the heels to fit them and then make slip casting moulds from these models. My first attempt ended in disaster when the cottle around the model didn't contain the plaster which all leaked out and ruined the model in the process and I had to start the modelling from the begining. The first picture shows the cardboard profile of the heel so that I know it will be the right size and style to fit the last. Then I have modelled the heel (with extra for the waste) and divided it in two with the card profile so that I can make a two-piece mould. I'm not sure that I allowed enough space on the left hand side of the heel to make an addequate mould. Anyway it's now drying out in the airing cupboard so I can test it out next week.
