Half-way through glazing

Writer's picture: Kate Hopkins-SearleKate Hopkins-Searle

These are some of the current shoes part way through glazing – some glaze colours have been fired on and some are still to be applied.  I don’t really like the stark contrast between the deep colours and the bare white clay so I’m working on them with a little bit of dislike at the moment.  Hopefully in a few firing’s time all will be resolved.  On the bright side my Kintsugi is looking good – the ‘Mender Friend’ has done a brilliant job on joining the two pieces of ‘Life is short, buy the shoes’.   I’ve made the join slightly raised so that when the gold is applied it’ll make more of a Kintsugi statement.
